Become the champion
Before starting to play we recommend you have enough space on your mobile phone and have a WiFi connection. This will avoid unnecessary expenses on our bill and blockages during the download.
The first thing you will need to do is sign in with your Google Play games account. Then start training and upgrading your skills in offline mode until you have a high enough attribute level to start participating in online races. When you reach this goal, you are ready to play.
Game Mechanics
Pocket Champs is played with the screen vertical. You will only be a kind of trainer or trainer of your champ so you will not run the races. Your objective is to improve his attributes, increase his power and equip him with gadgets to be the fastest. We will see this more in depth in the next point.
There are two game modes that only differ in the way to access and in the type of prizes to be received. They are the following:
- Home: is the main game mode. You will compete against players from all over the world with a number of participants less than the events. In these races you will win cups that will allow you to climb the ranking and win different prizes. The amount of cups to obtain will depend on the result of your race.
- Event : They are races of a limited duration, with a greater number of players against whom to compete. To access you need to use tickets. The prizes will depend on the type of event and your luck in the wheel of fortune that you will access once you finish the race. Normally, you can only participate a maximum of 5 times.
As we have already indicated, the races are carried out on autopilot, but we can see the type of map we are going to face. This will allow us to equip our character with the appropriate gadgets or raise the attributes. There are maps with pools, climbs, races and much more.
Character Attributes
The attributes are the different abilities of our champ. Depending on the type of race in which we participate, we will need one or the other. Each attribute has a series of levels that increase in power as they go up.
The attributes are: run, swim, climb and fly. The way to level them up is by getting attribute point cards for each of them. These are obtained in chests, backpacks, participating in tournaments and competitions and in the form of bonuses.
Gadgets for the characters
Gadgets are items that increase the power of one of the attributes for a set amount of time or across the entire race map. These are only for racing , they will not change the level of the attributes. For example, shoes allow us to run faster by a certain percentage of your “run” attribute level.
These gadgets can be leveled up using gold and cards from the same gadget. Depending on the level you are at, you will need a specific number of gadget cards and an amount of gold.
Champs Appearance
How could it be otherwise, the appearance of the champs can be modified, from the color to its appearance. For this we will use skins. Some are free and for others we will need to use gold or gems. Depending on the chosen skin, we will obtain bonuses, such as a better percentage of attributes, profits, etc.
Skins can be purchased from the bottom left of the screen with a champs icon. Also from the store itself.
Chests and sports bags
Chests are exclusive resources in the game. They are obtained with gems and depending on the type of chest we will obtain some cards or others.
- Big Chest : It is the simplest. It costs 80 gems and guarantees at least 5 rare gadgets.
- Mega Chest : costs 360 gems and guarantees a minimum of 2 epic items.
- Legendary Chest : 2,500 gems and brings at least one legendary gadget.
Sports bags, unlike chests, don’t open as quickly. They can take several hours and there are several types. Each of them belongs to an attribute. In these you will find simple or rarer prizes depending on how long they take to open.
Core Pocket Champs Resources
Pocket Champs is a freemium game. This means that we can play for free, but there is certain paid content that will allow us to advance faster in our game. The three main ones are the following.
The gem is the premium currency of the game. With it we can do practically anything. It has a real monetary value and can also be obtained while playing.
Gold is used to buy items and level up our gadgets. It can be obtained for free or purchased with gems.
Tickets are used to participate in events that last for a set amount of time. The maximum number that we can accumulate for free is 5. These regenerate on their own, but are also achieved using gems.
